Senior Systems Engineer (NM11-07)
Description
Candidate will provide program level support to the DoD's GPS and Navigation Warfare missions. Responsible for customer interfacing, including task planning and management, policy review and development, performing system technical review and trades, system analysis, and systems engineering. Will participate in requirements development and derivation by investigation of system and user functions. Perform requirements verification by analysis, assist in the planning of demonstrations and tests, analyze test results and anomalies. Participate in technical activities and documentation, technical and management status reviews. Report and support mitigation of program risks. Provide technical direction and oversight to subcontractors. Prepare papers, reports, studies, etc., in support of program activities/objectives.
Location
Kirtland AFB (Albuquerque), NM or Washington, DC, area.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree with 10 years, or master's degree with 5 years, of progressive project experience. Engineering or computer science degree preferred.
Qualifications
Background in defense electronics, radar, tracking, targeting, GPS, electronic warfare, navigation warfare, navigation or SIGINT experience and development of classified Program Security Infrastructures preferred. Experience in electronic warfare development, operational test and evaluation of advanced weapon systems, tactics development and identifying operational deficiencies. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Experience in planning and program execution.
Required
Must be US Government Security Clearance Eligible. Have proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications. Flexibility for travel. Demonstrate technical capability in handling and analyzing scientific datasets from space-based sensors, modeling and simulation technologies, and data visualization. Ability to work in a team setting with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desired
Experience in military operations. Familiarity with DoD's Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process and requirements and capabilities processes.
